  • Taekwondo is an art of self-defense that originated in South Korea over 2000+ years ago. It was originally designed to train soldiers in the army, a practice that continues to be used today.

    Taekwondo has since been recognized as an official Olympic sport in the year 2000 and has gained worldwide recognition.

    Taekwondo can be separated into three categories. “Tae” the foot, “Kwon” the hand, and “Do” the art. It focuses on training its practitioners in both self-defence of using the hands and feet but also the mentality and spiritual fortitude of its students.

    This can be seen through the important of the 5 Tenants of Taekwondo “Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit”.

  • Taekwondo is for every age, race, culture, and gender! No one will or should be excluded from learning the valuable lessons and skills that can come from training in Taekwondo.

    At AOT (Art Of Taekwondo), we offer classes for all ages and skill levels. We will make sure to construct a program that caters to your abilities and will allow you to progress at a pace that best fits your goals.

    One of the most important parts of Taekwondo is teaching Respect and how to show respect to both yourself and others. Student that train in martial arts are also proven to have higher levels of self-confidence, motivation, and perseverance.
